Dale Wheeldon, Partner
Dale has a diverse background in economic development and local government. Prior to the formation of EDCD, he was Manager of the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation. He played a strategic role in Chilliwack's evolution into one of the most successful economic development organizations in Canada, known for its ability to attract new companies to the community and develop and implement a successful award winning business retention program.
Dale's extensive experience in the area of strategic planning includes the development of strategies for physician recruitment, airport business attraction, business retention and expansion, economic development strategies for communities of all sizes, and associations. He has facilitated discussions between communities and the Province of British Columbia on changes to the Provincial Nominee program and is an industry expert for leading investment attraction delegations around the world. With his diverse background, Dale understands the importance of gathering community and stakeholder input and has the ability to gather that information with a buy-in from a majority of constituency.
Dale is Past President of the Economic Development Association of BC (EDABC) and was recognized by EDABC as Economic Development Officer of the Year in 2000. He has also served as a Director of the Economic Developers Association of Canada. A frequent speaker at economic development events, he was recently retained as an instructor for the Business Retention and Expansion program at the University of Waterloo in collaboration with the Economic Development Association of Canada.
Dale received his Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo.
Colleen Bond, Partner
Colleen Bond has worked in the field of economic development for 14 years developing specific expertise in the areas of business enhancement and expansion, business attraction and foreign investment attraction. She has consulted to economic development agencies at all levels in the areas of community economic research, and the creation and analysis of economic development strategies. Her work with communities has included identification of barriers to growth and the development of strategies to address them.
Prior to her involvement with EDCD, Colleen was an economic development officer for a community of 160,000 residents. She has extensive experience in research including community economic base analysis, community consultation, and survey work and is an accomplished facilitator of strategic planning workshops.
A Certified Economic Developer with a Diploma in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo, Colleen is working towards her C2ER Research Certification.
Mark Regier
Mark is Strategic Initiatives Coordinator for EDCD Consulting, responsible for the programming, design and specific research initiatives for EDCD clients. He has a Diploma in Marketing and Sales from Langara College and gained valuable research and development skills with a private consulting firm prior to joining the EDCD team.
Susan Hunt
As the Executive Assistant to Dale and Colleen, Susan's responsibility is to manage the administration of the daily office procedures. Susan has received her Diploma in Office Administration at Sprott Shaw Community College and brings to EDCD Consulting twelve years of office experience, ranging from high volume reception and administration duties, management of Trade Show attendance and client relations, to Operations Coordinator in a demanding and fast paced service industry.
